The Department of Kinesiology had their annual reception
honoring scholarship recipients, donors, and community partners this month. This year Olivia Wishman was awarded the
Premier Scholar Scholarship Award. This
scholarship is given to the student in each kinesiology concentration that
demonstrates exemplary scholarship, service, and leadership. These students
must also have a 3.5 GPA and participate in organizations and activities
outside of academics. Olivia is a second
year in the Athletic Training program.
She worked with Football her first year and is currently working with
Women’s Basketball. Athletic Training
Program Director, Ray Castle, attended the reception and presented Olivia with
her scholarship. The reception was
followed by a social hour with food that allowed the recipients, donors, and
community partners to mingle. We are
excited to recognize Olivia and her accomplishment. Senior Associate Athletic Trainer Shelly Mullenix said, "The recipient of this award has consistently represented us while at LSU and beyond. These recipients are strong leaders who are always striving to improve their clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer. I have no doubt that Olivia has overcome obstacles and as a result, she has become a confident AT Student that so many look up to for guidance and example. I am so proud that she is a part of our Athletic Training family here at LSU." Congratulations Olivia!
